I live on the Gulf Coast of Texas. We joke that we only have 2 seasons around here--summer and something that's not summer OR one of the other 3 recognized seasons. It doesn't really cool off around here until December, and sometimes not even then. I've got pictures of me riding my bike on Christmas Day in two different years. One year, I'm bundled head to toe. The other, I'm in shorts.
That leads me to...
Wish it would cool off,
leaves would change, be nice out, but
no such luck 'round here.
and
In Texas, leaves do change.
From bright green to dirty brown
No reds, or oranges here.

FINALLY...a snarling haiku :-)
love your fresh point of view...keep 'em coming!
Very different take on autumn than most! I can't relate at all I'm afraid :P but great haiku!
LOL!! these are great! I grew up in the southern california desert and there weren't any trees to witness fall either. Although it did get really cold in winter!
Hah, Jayne - my sister would appreciate these. She lives in College Station.
I LOVE these! :)
I grew up in California (where there aren't any seasons at all - just dry days and rainy days), and I'm moving back next month so I won't have much of an Autumn anymore.
Thanks for stopping by my blog - sorry it took me so long to comment, but I didn't get much of chance online the last few days :(
Hehehe I enjoyed your description of two seasons :)
